The Oath of Humanity: Education - Humanitarian aid - Ecology

On Saturday September 25, 2020,

at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan!

For the 30 years of its existence, Femmes Internationales Murs Brisés was at the Charles Trenet auditorium at the Palais des Congrès. On September 25, the third act of the Meetings of the Oath of Humanity gathered a very large audience. A pleasant surprise in this difficult period for events and festivities.

For the opening of the event, Louis Aliot, Mayor of Perpignan, was represented by André Bonet, Deputy Mayor for culture.

Elected officials, sponsors and partners came to listen to Evelyne Mesquida, initiator of the Oath of Humanity, and the eminent speakers gathered to advance the reflection on What are we doing for a better world?

Beyond the usual observations relayed by newspapers and thematic conferences, the speakers agreed on common values and a desire to go beyond the prevailing fatalism.

They proposed their courses of action together:

In education, Philippe Benguigui, national president of Zakhor Pour la Mémoire, creates a bridge between past and future to grow in continuity and dignity. Gheorghe Anton, Board Advisor of OMAEP, offers prenatal education and his holistic view of the human being. Mintze van der Velde, Secretary General of Lucis Trust / Bonne Volonté Mondiale Geneva, advocates personal transformation to shape society into a new, more peaceful age. Sheikh Khaled Bentounes, spiritual leader of the Alâwiyya Sufi order, ratified the International Day of Living Together in Peace in 2018.

In ecology, Valériane Bernard, Brahma Kumaris UN Geneva representative, encourages an awakening of consciousness for a more harmonious life and gives the example of “India One”, a one million watt solar thermal power plant located near their campus in Rajasthan. One of the Dalai Lama’s greatest collaborators in Europe, Venerable Thubten Wangchen delivered a message of hope full of communicative joy.

For the humanitarian aspect, the poignant video testimony of Mgr Samir Nassar, Maronite Archbishop of Damascus, preceded a call for donations for the rehabilitation of a student home in the Syrian capital. This year, the former priest of Beirut also wishes to help families ruined by the explosion of the city’s port on August 4 in Lebanon.

In her synthesis, Evelyne Mesquida commits to think high to see more clearly, to make the right choices, and above all to apply in awareness the rights and the duties that everyone owes towards the planet and all living things.

Accustomed to big stages (Casino de Paris, La Mutualité, Altigone, Le Bascala, Geneva, etc.), the 20 non-professional dancers of The Blue Swan Guild, a company of artists created by FIMB, have communicated to the public the foretaste of a better world at last.

The Oath of Humanity, a power at work for peace!
